Official monthly organ of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Firemen (B of LF), a fraternal benefit society for railroad workers maintaining the power system of steam locomotives.
The magazine is best known for having been edited by labor leader Eugene V. Debs from the middle of 1880 through 1894. The year 1895 is the year of the jailing of the ARU leadership for their violation of judicial injunction against striking in the 1894 Pullman Strike.
